The Pioneer Women of Reserve (PWR) are dedicated to supporting a wide array of extracurricular and academic programs for the student body of Western Reserve Academy. This vibrant and enthusiastic group of women is comprised not only of the mothers of current WRA students, but of alumni moms and other "friends of the school" who generously donate their time and energy to help enrich the lives and the scholastic experience of the Academy's diverse boarding and day-student population.
The Pioneer Women of Reserve have two primary goals. First, they are committed to positively influencing the overall educational experience of each Reserve student. And secondly, they are focused on providing an avenue for more frequent and more meaningful student/parent interaction.
The annual WRA Antiques Festival, held on the school's beautiful Hudson, Ohio campus each Labor Day, is the PWR's highest profile fund raiser. Funds raised from the event go to support many important student projects and events, such as the purchase of student tickets to area cultural events, the sponsorship of on-campus guest speakers, investment in departmental infrastructure, the renovation and/or maintenance of student gathering places (such as the Green Key and the "WRAp"), refurbishing common rooms in the dorms, the provision of beverages and snacks during exam weeks, and scores of other activities that make student life at WRA more enjoyable.
